Don Nunemaker received Hornaday Award tonight January 22, 1999 in Wellington, Ks at the Quivira Council Exploring Award Dinner,  Don is the Purser for Ship 210 an Eagle Scout with Twelve Eagle Palms also received His Ordinary Rank and Qualified Seaman Award.

Special recognition went to the following persons: LT Alan Sherry, Valley Center PD. Post 2700, was presented the District Award of Merit. A special, national conservation award, the William T. Hornaday Award, was presented to Don Nunemaker of Ship 210. Spark Plug Awards were presented to William Rogers of Post 2700, Ryan Ewing of Post 303, and Chaney McIntyre of Post 303. The Exploring Leadership Award was presented to Christina Kerns and Trevor McCampbell of Ship 210.
